Why ski in Tignes-Val d’Isère Ski Area

The Tignes-Val d’Isère ski area is the most reliable place for those of you who love year-round ski trips. It's divided into two separate ski resorts, Tignes and Val d’Isère and the glaciers mean that you can even head there for some Summer skiing! At night, the valley glows with the golden light from the cluster of restaurants, bars, chalets and hotels. In the daytime, the Grand Motte Glacier is a must-see for experienced skiers and snowboarders with its vast snow fields and white forests. The area's ideal for skiers of all levels due to its 300 kilometre range of pistes and is one of the first in the Alps to open its doors.

Tignes is well designed for beginners, with lifts and designated, secure slopes for those of you looking to build your confidence. If you'd rather go off-piste, there are professional guides who'll show you the best routes.

Val d’Isère has always been well suited for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders, and you'll enjoy the range of extensive blue and red runs across the resort. The majority of the slopes here are over 2,300 metres, so you can expect fresh powder and perfect snow throughout the season. Not only is the skiing fantastic, but Val d’Isère is also home to some of the best après-ski scenes across the whole of Europe!

Things to do in The Tignes-Val d'Isère Area

Located in the heart of the village, there is an artificial ice skating rink - the Patinoire de Val d'Isere - and is great fun for all the family. It is open all winter 7 days a week, weather dependant of course, and there is a small refreshment chalet located on site for snacks and hot drinks to warm you up.

Val d'Isere is a great place to learn to fly thanks to it's many clubs and organisations in the resort whose sole purpose is to get you up in the air. Flights can be taken with a qualified instructor and it's good to know that no level of fitness is required for this activity, all you need to do is sit back and enjoy the spectacular birds-eye views.

Snowmobiles are great fun and a fab way to explore the side of the mountains the ski slopes don't touch. It's up to you to decide whether you want to be a passenger or a driver but either way you'll have opportunities to experience untouched landscapes surrounding Mont Blanc, Bellevarde summit and the Sache - and some great opportunities for photos!

Tignespace will keep you occupied with its state-of-the-art infrastructure in an exceptional setting. Its massive climbing walls and indoor football pitches make it perfect for white-out days when the snow is just too heavy to ski.

Swap your skis for a toboggan on the Pala'Fou Toboggan run! Alternatively, to add a bit of extra fun to sledging, try snow tubing! Slide down the slope on a giant rubber ring (3 years and above).

Be the first one up the mountain and enjoy a breakfast with a view, you can enjoy the exclusivity of being one of the first ones on the mountain. Please ask your representative for further details on how to book.

Enjoy this magical outdoor play and relaxation area free of charge. The Village Perdu can be found in the heart of La Daille's forest. This new and sustainable hideaway features overhanging footbridges more than 90 metres high. If you're feeling adventurous you can ski right up to the Village Perdu, before heading off on foot to explore the walkways through the trees.
