Despite the country facing the Mediterranean, the sunny days don’t result in a lack of snow, and you’ll find opportunities to ski powder are good right from the start of the season. Due to its high altitude, sitting at an impressive 2,100m above sea level, Pas de la Casa offers some of the best quality slopes and is the most snow-sure resort across Andorra.
Beginners and Families
Arinsal is ranked as one of the best ski resorts for families, and is a fantastic choice for those of you looking to find your snow feet. With its nursery slopes situated at high altitudes, beginners are guaranteed great runs and reliable snow. The resort’s combination of landscape and selection of highly reputable English speaking ski schools offers you the ideal friendly and relaxed environment for learning.
Best for Après
Pas de la Casa has the biggest reputation for après ski and is certainly well known for being Andorra’s liveliest resort. Pas’s après can be as wild or as laid-back as you want them to be, with activities continuing into the early hours of the morning. Surrounded by people with the same passion for the snowy mountains, Pas provides you with a social atmosphere you won’t find in other resorts.
Best for Snowboarders
Included in the Grandvalira and Arinsal lift passes is Ordino-Arcalis, which is a snowboarder’s go to. It's no surprise its ranked number one for choice as the area totals around 18 miles and is made up of a challenging terrain that overlooks the snowy tree tops. Although accommodation is not available in Ordino-Arcaslis we’d highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for a quiet run with a touch of competition as the ski area is north facing so the quality and quantity of snow the area receives attracts a more experienced crowd. However, if you are looking for something slightly closer to your hotel, Soldeu offers four snow parks as well as a freestyle academy designed with the most extreme winter sports in mind.
