If you missed out on February half term but still want to take the family skiing, there’s simply no better time of the year to go than Easter. From snow sure paradises to thriving resorts with an eclectic calendar of Easter events – the vibrant atmosphere in our ski resorts at the end of season is intoxicating.

Take a look at our best winter season Easter ski deals or read on if you're looking for a bit more Easter skiing destination inspiration.

Here are a few of our suggestions of the best Easter ski resorts - with great family accommodation options, fantastic in-resort facilities and activities (including fun extras as Easter time) and plenty of ski schools and blue runs for those little ones who are learning:

Val Thorens, France

Val Thorens

The highest ski resort in Europe, Val Thorens is a safe bet when it comes to snow. The gentle slopes at the foot of the resort are very snow sure, making it an excellent end of season destination for beginners. It’s generally expected that this resort will remain open right up until the beginning of May.

A typically lively resort, Val Thorens has an excellent party atmosphere towards the end of season. The usual après scene is complimented by an eclectic calendar of events throughout the end of March and into April.

Obergurgl, Austria

Obergurgl

Obergurgl’s height gives it an edge when it comes to Easter skiing. Its altitude makes it one of the most snow sure resorts in Europe. Its exceptional track record in piste grooming and snow making has resulted in some of our most enjoyable ski memories.

The excellent Top Mountain Star, with its glorious views of the Alps, now has competition as our favourite mountain restaurant in Obergurgl. The recently opened Top Mountain Crosspoint not only serves delicious Austrian cuisine but is also home to Europe’s highest motorbike museum.

Saas Fee, Switzerland

Saas Fee

The glacier in this charming village (possibly the prettiest ski resort in the Alps) is open to skiers and snowboarders throughout the year. Saas Fee is a fantastic, family friendly resort. The large nursery slope in the centre of the village is perfect for beginners.

The colourful Saas Fee Easter Festival is great fun for all the family with a wealth of activities to participate in. The highlight of the festival is the Nostalgic Races in which competitors dress in traditional and retro costumes and ski on 'nostalgic' equipment.

Tignes and Val d'Isere, France

Espace Killy

The resorts of Tignes and Val d’Isere are two of the most snow sure destinations in the Alps. The high altitude and extensive glaciers here mean you are assured an opportunity to ski.

With an eclectic calendar of end of season events in both resorts, there is also plenty to keep the family entertained. A unique spectacle, Val d’Isere hosts the Winter Golf Cup at the end of March while Tignes welcomes in April with the lively Live in Tignes music festival. This makes the area an excellent choice for groups.

St Anton, Austria

St Christoph

The mighty St Anton is one of the best high-alpine ski resorts in the world, it's the largest and most iconic alpine skiing destination in Austria.

The St. Anton ski area is known for its challenging skiing, which comes with stunning views. The long, exhilarating descents from the Valluga, as well as the scenic valley runs and world-class off-piste skiing, have made St. Anton a favourite with avid skiers year after.

What's more, its reputation for lively après ski is unrivalled, making it the ideal place for an Easter party on the slopes.

Zermatt, Switzerland

Zermatt

With glacier skiing and lifts stretching well above 3,000m, Zermatt is an excellent choice for an end of season ski holiday. Situated in the shadow of the iconic Matterhorn this is also one of the most breath-taking and beautifully scenic ski resorts in the Alps.

At Easter time, there is often a chance for families to join Wolli, the local mascot, on an Easter egg hunt in the heart of the village.

There are also usually opportunities in resort for children to make their own chocolate Easter bunnies. Zermatt is an ideal resort for families.
