The Moss, run by our long-standing partner Imre, is a firm favourite with Inghams' guests year on year. The hotel has had a complete renovation and all rooms have been renovated to a high standard and have use of the hotel's new restaurant, bar, and indoor pool.

Prime location

The hotel is located in a quiet side street only two minutes’ walk from the nearest piste and ski school meeting point. It’s convenient for lift access, being only five minutes’ walk from the Festkogel gondola leading to the entire Obergurgl-Hochgurgl area.

Restaurant & bar

The new design concept uses natural materials and inspiration from the surrounding mountains. A warm, inviting atmosphere is found throughout the hotel and there is a small bar area which is the perfect place to chill in the evening with a drink.

Indoor pool & spa

The hotel's renovations have added a new wellness area which includes an indoor swimming pool, sauna, and steam room. Massages and treatments are available to book locally.

Rooms types for everybody

The hotel is split into two wings. All rooms are newly renovated and decorated with local materials in a modern style. Choose from a variety of room types, from twins to larger suites sleeping up to six, perfect for families.

Exclusive to Inghams

As a ski specialist tour operator we carefully select the very best accommodation in our resorts and package them with flights and transfers, so that you can make the most of your holiday. We have an exclusive agreement with the Moss the only UK tour operator to package and sell holidays here - all the more reason to book with Inghams today!

Why is this an Inghams' Choice property?

Service- We value the great partnerships we have with our hotels and our longstanding relationship with the Moss means we know you are getting the very best on your Inghams holiday.

Refurbishment- For this season the Moss has undergone a full hotel renovation, adding an indoor pool and wellness area.

Alpine chic- You can feel like you're on the mountains without even leaving your hotel room. The alpine features and materials used at the Moss give it the perfect alpine feel throughout.

  • 110 km of skiing
  • 36 Blue, 56 Red, 20 Black runs
  • Transfer time: approx. 1 hour 30 mins by coach from Innsbruck

Surrounded by glorious mountain peaks and glaciers, Obergurgl nestles at the end of the Ötz Valley and is guaranteed good snow conditions from November to May. Well known for its top quality hotels and modern, queue-free lift system, it has always been one of Inghams’ most popular resorts.

Skiing and snowboarding in Obergurgl

If you’re looking for guaranteed snow, queue-free modern lifts and immaculate slope grooming then Obergurgl is the place for you. Known as the ‘diamond of the alps’, the majority of our hotels are 4 star and above. As a family resort, many of the hotels offer kids activities and are close to the ski school and lifts.

You’ll have quiet scenic pistes suited to all levels of skiing. There is a great ski school, learning area and child friendly snow park. At a height of 1,927 metres the views in Obergurgl are spectacular.

Where to stay in Obergurgl

We have excellent long standing relationships with all of our hotels in Obergurgl so you can rest assured that you will be taken great care of during your stay. The level of service and facilities here are some of the best in Austria, and many hotels have ski-in, ski-out locations.

The best views of the resort can be enjoyed from the Top Mountain Star 360° bar or the Hohe Mut Alm – where you’ll find the spot known as Tirol’s most beautiful mountain ridge. We recommend a winter hike around the stone pine forest – which became a UNESCO natural treasure in 1963. There is a weekly ski-show, night skiing and tobogganing or why not holiday in style with a helicopter ride or champagne gondola lunch.

Bars and restaurants in Obergurgl

With a community of 400 locals working in the traditional pubs, parasol covered bars and rustic mountain huts –expect lederhosen’s, large beer steins and service with a smile. Obergurgl is a small resort meaning you’re never too far from friends or family on the slopes.

No trip to Obergurgl would be complete without a trip to the famous après Nederhütte, located half way up the mountain. Be sure to try the sticky ribs, they’re a specialty that shouldn’t be missed. Once you’ve had a bite to eat. It’s time to party – the house band and staff will be the first to demand you get up on the benches for a good old knees up.

Every Tuesday we offer a wine tasting with one of Austria's top sommelier, Maximilian Steiner. Taste some of Austria's best wines in the beautiful cellar at the Austria Gourmet & Wine Hotel, open to both residence and none residence. You can pre-book or speak to our team in resort to book.
