Hotel Antonella's a small and friendly hotel run by the Zamboni family, who'll go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay. Family run hotel's are our favourite, because you get a really personalised service and there's always a homely atmosphere, so you can really switch off and relax on your summer holiday.

Easy access to Malcesine's lakefront

The hotel's in a great position on the main lake road so you can walk into the centre of Malcesine in about ten minutes. For a more scenic route we'd recommend taking the lakeside path- it's slightly longer but it's worth it just to be near the water and those stunning lake views. You'll also be in walking distance to the Monte Baldo cable car. Spend a day on Monte Baldo, scoping out the fantastic walking trails on offer. The views of Lake Garda from up on the mountain are some of the best you'll get, so make sure you don't miss the chance to see them!

Striking summer sunsets

The rooms are simple and spotlessly clean, and if you upgrade to the Standard Balcony Lake View Room, you'll be in prime position for watching the sun set across the lake and mountains each evening. Another great sunset spot is up on the hotel's roof terrace, where you can relax with an aperitivo in hand, reminiscing about your day exploring Lake Garda.

Take a dip in the outdoor pool & relax in the garden

One of the best parts of a summer holiday is making the most of an outdoor pool. We can think of nothing better than grabbing a sun lounger in the garden, taking a good book with you and spending the whole day soaking up the sun, whilst taking intermittent dips in the pool. There's also a bar service which delivers right to your sun lounger, so don't miss out on refreshing Hugo or Aperol Spritz; this is true relaxation!

The prettiest town on Lake Garda?

It’s a hard one to call, Lake Garda being so beautiful (and one of Italy’s best loved summer holiday spots), but summer holidays in Malcesine really do stand out from the crowd. Scaligero castle is built on a rock jutting over the lake, with fantastic views all around. There’s the Palazzo dei Capitani near the port - with its waterfront gardens, natural history museum and paintings - the 1200-year-old church Antica Pieve di Santo Stefano, and the huge white statue of Madonna dell’Accoglienze looking over the town (a relatively easy 8km round-trip walk from town).

Just 100m from the centre of Malcesine is pebbly Paina beach, with lifeguards, volleyball courts, a skate park, bars, restaurants and a beach club. It's a must-do on a hot summer day. Wander up the coast and the beaches multiply; most have floating swim rafts and a pizzeria close by. A few kilometres south of town is Val di Sogno beach, and when the lake water is low you can walk over to Isola del Sogno (Dream Island) or even swim to it just 20 metres from the shore. Scuba divers might like to rent gear and visit the boat wreck just beyond Isola del Sogno.
