The Sun Valley residence offers excellent accommodation and leisure facilities in a perfect location right on the piste - locateed in the quiet Plagne Soleil, you are a short walk from the village square where there are a handful of restaurants and ski shops or you can take the bus down to the telebus for access to Plagne centre.

Ideal location

Located next to the slopes, you'll have access to the Paradiski area right on your doorstep. Not only does the residence provide direct access to the mountain, but the ski school meeting place is only a 200 metre walk and the centre of Plagne Soleil a 4 minutes' walk away. You'll also find that the views from the apartments are spectacular, with many of them overlooking the ski runs and the Tarentaise valley.

Spa facilities

Relax and unwind in one of the many spa facilities on offer in the adjoining building - Hotel Vancouver. Visit the indoor heated pool for a dip, or warm up and relax your muscles in the sauna. You'll also have access to a steam room and whirlpool too.

Traditional alpine apartments

Each apartment is furnished in a traditional Savoyard style, with décor of wood and warm colours. They are well equipped and come with all the amenities you will need for a week in the mountains, including a well equipped kitchen and communal snug lounge area. These apartments provide a warm and cosy atmosphere which pairs well with the cold and snowy outdoors.

La Plagne

  • Resort altitude of 2100 metres
  • Skiing from 1200 - 3417 metres
  • 18 green runs, 129 blue runs, 77 red runs, 34 black runs across the Paradiski area

The well designed resort of La Plagne comprises some ten villages, each with its own character and infrastructure and we feature accommodation in the best five. Belle Plagne is the most scenic with easy access to the gondola, whilst Plagne Soleil and Plagne Villages are ideally situated in a sunny bowl and offer easy ski in/ski out accommodation. Plagne Centre provides quick and easy access to the slopes and is the focal point for shops and après ski. One of the best things about La Plagne is how well connected these villages are, allowing you to explore all of the resort during your stay. Not only that but La Plagne also offers opportunities to try other exciting winter activities including husky sleighs, snow shoeing, skidooing and cross country skiing.

Varied and extensive skiing La Plagne

La Plagne is part of the Paradiski ski area, which is one of the biggest ski areas in Europe and the second biggest in the world. This extensive ski area is well connected with a glacier and plenty of tree lined runs. Over 70% of the slopes in the paradiski area are above 2000 metres so you'll get plenty of opportunities to ski or board fresh powder. La Plagne is a great resort for beginners and families with 70 blue runs to practise on and really build your confidence. Intermediate and advanced riders are also catered for and you'll find a great selection of red slopes and a handful of blacks, with opportunities to reach the highest part of the resort via the Bellete gondola, up the glacier to 3,417 metres. If you'd like to expand your playground, the impressive Vanoise Express cable car provides easy access to a further 225km of pistes over in Les Arcs so you'll have plenty of runs to explore and to keep you entertained during your stay.

New for W24/25 -

La Plagne has some exciting new facilities planned for this coming winter. The Aérolive features two open-air cabins added to the glaciers gondola. Experience the mountains without any barriers - literally - and ascend to the highest point in resort at 3,000 metres. These cabins are intentionally exposed to the mountain elements, with 360-degree unobstructed views. With slatted floors and no glass between you and the peaks, you'll be strapped in and ready to experience the sensation of being suspended.

There is also a new pitstop for a mid-ski snack break. The Picnickers Welcome is a new heated picnic room, perched at 2,800 metres. This bright and airy space is a real treat and offers panoramic views of the mountain peaks and Paradiski slopes.

Where to stay in La Plagne

We offer an extensive range of hotels and residences across the five La Plagne villages. No matter which village catches your eye first, all our accommodation is located within a short walk of the ski lifts and ski area so if you're hoping to hit the slopes first thing that won't be a problem. They are also all located close to La Plagne centre where you'll find a range of shops, restaurants and bars, so you'll be right in the middle of all the action. The main majority of our residences and hotels have spa and wellness facilities included with your stay so there'll be opportunities for you to relax and unwind, for example Residence W2050 has fantastic spa facilities including swimming pool, sauna and fitness room. However, if you're not too worried about this part of your winter holiday, we do have properties that don't have this included like the Constellations Apartments.

Bars and restaurants in La Plagne

Within the La Plagne villages, you'll find a variety of restaurants and cafes, with a lot of places selling Savoyard specialities like fondue and tartiflette. There are also opportunities for gastronomic experiences with the 4 star Hotel Carlina in Belle-Plagne serving an à la carte menu that is beautifully prepared by a French chef.

If you'd like to try traditional, hearty mountain food, you'll find a selection of restaurants that are located higher up the mountain - perfect for a lunch stop on a ski day. Although these restaurants tend to be more expensive than the restaurants found in the village, the food is well worth trying and usually involves French cuisine with some fantastic views.

La Plagne isn't the liveliest out of the French winter resorts but it still offers some great places to eat and drink in the evenings. La Plagne centre is the busiest village if you're looking for après ski scene, with multiple venues open till late. 'The Mouth' is a new bar in La Plagne that offers live music as well as a happy hour until 10pm and is open till 2am - it even has a big-screen that shows live sports. You'll also find an 'Igloo bar' which is made of a faux-ice interior and hosts DJ nights.
