Base Camp offers a selection of studios and apartments in Cielo Alto with fresh furnishings and modern décor.

Home From Home

This self catering home-from-home accommodation offers a great environment to relax in, giving you the freedom to dine in Cervinia's bars and restaurants or use the modern kitchen facilities to cook your own food.

Dining Options

The Base Camp restaurant is just a two minute walk away and offers continental breakfast and evening meal options which can be arranged and paid for locally. We recommend giving the pizzas here a try, they're delicious.

Location

There's a small shop nearby for all your essentials or you can take the resort bus that stops just outside the apartment and be at the large supermarket within five minutes.

The bus will also link you to the main lifts area, ski school and ski hire shop. If you don't fancy the bus, the bottom half of the Cieloalto red run is directly outside and links to Breuil-Cervinia, then it's about a three-minute walk to the main lift. It's also possible to ski right back to the apartments if the snow conditions are right.

Cervinia

  • Resort altitude: 2,050m
  • 350km of skiing
  • 27 blue, 64 red and 5 black runs
  • 1 hour 45 mins by coach from Turin airport

As one of Europe’s highest ski resorts, great snow conditions and an impressive glacier come as standard. What truly makes this resort stand out is the towering site of the Matterhorn and just how close it is. That mixed with the rest of the incredible surrounding landscape and you have yourself the perfect setting for what is simply an amazing ski resort.

Skiing and snowboarding in Cervinia

Cervinia is known for its extensive ski area and as you head up the mountain to the high peaks of the Plateau Rosa you will appreciate the impressive lift system which connects you to Valtournenche as well as the famous Swiss resort of Zermatt.

Almost an endless network of runs means there is plenty of variety and places to explore as well as some superb off-piste runs. With an International ski pass you have the best of both worlds, so definitely worth it if you want to get the miles in and explore the full area.

Where to stay in Cervinia

We have a great selection of accommodation offerings in and around Cervinia. You can expect excellent Italian hospitality and the food and wine selections are second to none. Select one of our hotels with pools and wellness areas if you are looking for a bit of extra relaxation off the slopes.

Valtournenche

A couple of our hotels are located just outside of Cervinia in the peaceful town of Valtournenche. Just ten minutes drive from the centre of Cervinia and sharing the same ski area, these hotels are perfect for guests looking to experience the incredible Aosta Valley Ski Area in tranquil surroundings. If you want to explore the town, getting from Valtournenche to Cervinia is simple, with a direct bus route included on your lift pass.

Bars and restaurants in Cervinia

The village of Cervinia is a good size and there is lots to see and do. Along the font of the slopes you will find plenty of bars overlooking the piste, many serving lunch with an epic view of the Matterhorn.

Later in the day the music is turned up and you have a great range of après bars to choose from. Further into town along the traffic free cobbled streets you'll find plenty of shops to browse as well as some great hidden little pizzerias, perfect if you want a slice for lunch.

Being based on the Italian side of the mountain definitely has its benefits, what with great food, service full of Italian flair and let’s not forget it’s a lot cheaper than over the border with our Swiss friends.

Things to do in Cervinia

In and around the resort there's a massive selection of things to do. Rev up the engine and have a go at ice karting, take to the skies and feel the adrenaline of tandem paragliding, have a dip in the local pool or visit the highest ice grotto in Europe over on the Swiss side of the mountains – whatever you're after and whatever the age range, there's something for everyone in this authentic Italian resort.
