Davos, a bustling town just up and over from the more genteel Klosters, is located in a spectacular valley with great views all around. You may know it as the famed annual World Economic Forum host, but there's plenty more to see and do in this friendly town. Enjoy world class skiing, winter walking, sledging or if you're lucky you can see the Swiss champions Hockey Club Davos at the towns ice rink.
Skiing and snowboarding in Davos
With high-altitude skiing across six different areas, the linked Davos and Klosters region, includes the celebrated Parsenn, Jakobshorn, Rinerhorn, Pischa, Gotschna and Madrisa mountains. There's a good mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced slopes - so there's something for skiers and boarders of all levels. We love the extensive Parsenn area, which has upwards of a hundred pistes, and amazing long runs all the way down to Serneus and Küblis - it's the key to the heart of the Davos-Klosters skiing, and the location for the legendary annual Parsenn Derby race.
Where to stay in Davos
Davos is split into two parts Davos Dorf and Davos Platz - both areas are conveniently linked by bus, train or about 45 minutes on foot. With Inghams you'll have a choice of high quality 4 and 5 star hotels in both areas. Whether you're after a little luxury, something modern or somewhere with spa facilities so that you relax and unwind after a big day on the slopes, we've got the hotel for you. They're all located close to the lifts, accessing different areas of the mountains. You'll never be far from a train station or bus stop - so it couldn't be easier to explore different parts of the resort.
Bars and restaurants in Davos
There are some great mountain restaurants on the slopes - Schwendi at Parsenn is one of our favourite lunch spots serving up tasty local dishes. In the evenings, stroll down the town’s Promenade Street and you'll find lots of cosy restaurants and cafés. If you're looking for something a bit more lively there's a good apres and night life scene in town - live music and DJ sets are often on the cards.
