Mandolin Orchestra Weekly Concerts
When: 19th February - 26th March 2025
Where: Funchal
Europe’s oldest and youngest mandolin orchestra presents a captivating musical experience. Enjoy world music classics, specially arranged for the mandolin, in unforgettable performances at the Madeira Regional Assembly.
Carnival Allegoric Parade
When: 26th February - March 9th 2025
Where: Funchal
Madeira’s Carnival 2025 is a vibrant, joy-filled celebration from February 26th to March 9th. The Grand Allegoric Parade (March 1st) brings dazzling costumes, samba beats, and over 1,500 performers, while the Trapalhão Parade (March 4th) adds a fun, satirical twist with creative and often humorous costumes inspired by politics, culture, and tradition. Kicking off with the Children’s and Solidarity Parades (Feb 28th), the festival fills Madeira with music, dancing, and non-stop energy. Street performances, live bands, and spontaneous celebrations keep the party going day and night.

38th Madeira Music Festival

Don’t miss the 38th Madeira Music Festival, a must-attend event for music lovers. Starting March 8, the Madeira Classical Orchestra, led by world-renowned conductor and soloist Shlomo Mintz, will bring stunning performances to the Madeira Congress Centre.
Experience the emotional depth of Tchaikovsky’s 5 Pieces for Violin and Orchestra and the powerful Symphony No. 7 by Dvořák. Over four exciting weekends, you can enjoy a variety of orchestral works, including exciting new compositions and performances from top national and international artists, as well as rising stars. It’s a celebration of music, talent, and culture you won’t want to miss.

Madeira’s Carnival is a highlight on the festival calendar. From parades to festivities across the island, it’s a wave of joy that spreads throughout the archipelago.
April
Madeira Rum Festival
When: 22nd - 26th April 2025
Where: Funchal
The seventh edition of the Madeira Rum Festival takes place along the Central Walkway of Avenida Arriaga from April 22 to 26. Organized by IVBAM, IP – RAM, the festival is a great opportunity to taste and learn about Madeira Agricultural Rum through activities like masterclasses, tastings, food pairings, and conversations with producers.
EXPOTROPICAL – The Subtropical Fruits & Flavours Show
When: 24th - 27th April 2025
Where: Funchal
Celebrate Madeira’s rich agricultural heritage at Praça do Povo with fresh produce, music concerts, and lively entertainment. Proceeds support local families in need.

Atlantic Festival

Summer starts with a bang at the Atlantic Festival, ringing in summer with tunes, sparks, and show-stopping acts. The festival is a vibrant showcase of culture that spreads its magic across Madeira.
The festival kicks off with pyromusical acts so eye-catching, you might just forget to blink.
Fancy some sparkle? Don’t miss the International Madeira Fireworks Competition. If acrobats and screens are more your thing, the Multimedia and Circus Shows won’t disappoint.
