This easy walk is a treat for the senses and one of our absolute favourite ways to experience the beauty of the region. You can reach the medicinal herb and alpine flower trail on the Reiteralm in 20 minutes via hiking trails no. 5 or H11 and 13.
You'll learn about over 200 herbs and alpine flowers while enjoying the breath-taking scenery.

Saalbach Tennis Courts

Day Trip to Zell am See
Why not take a day trip to Zell am See? This lovely town by Lake Zell has charming streets and many shops.
You can watch a fountain show at Elisabeth Park, go on a boat cruise, rent a paddleboard, or visit the lakeside lido for swimming and fun.
For more adventure, go to Schmittenhöhe mountain. The view from the top is amazing, and you can enjoy tasty local food at the Franzl hut's sun terrace.

Teufelswasser Theme Park
Teufelswasser Theme Park is a magical water wonderland that's perfect for a fun day out. You can cool off in the Kneipp pool, relax by the fish pond, and let the kids play in the wooden playhouse.

Learn to Ride Park
If you're new to biking, the Learn to Ride Park at the Kohlmais gondola in Saalbach is the perfect place to start.
Start with some easy riding on the circular course, then test your skills on trails like Little Monti, Little Hacklberg, Little Panorama, Little Pro-Line, and the Drop Area. Once you're ready, take the gondola lift up to the start of the Monti Trail (middle station) and the Panorama Trail (top station).
The park is ideal for kids and adult beginners alike, making it a great place to build confidence and enjoy biking in a beautiful setting.
Escape Trail
Join the thrilling Escape Trail Mystery Queens adventure in Saalbach, where Austrian YouTubers Vikki and Melli, known for their paranormal investigations, mysteriously disappear while researching a 19th-century ghost story.
Hikers find their locked backpack near a mountain hut, sparking a quest to uncover the truth. This adventure combines a scavenger hunt, puzzle-solving, and a short hike or e-bike tour through the scenic Glemmtal mountains.
Suitable for small groups (2-8 people) and kids aged 12 and up, the game takes 5-6 hours, including 3 hours of walking.
Start at the Tourism Service Centre, pick up your game set, and follow clues to solve the mystery.
Bring a smartphone, good shoes, and some snacks, and get ready for an unforgettable experience.
Fairytale Forest in Hinterglemm
Step into the magical world of Hinterglemm's Fairytale Forest and meet your favourite characters from stories like “Little Red Riding Hood.”
This enchanting spot has been a beloved destination for families, tourists, and locals for over 35 years. Just one kilometre from Hinterglemm town centre, the loop through the Fairytale Forest is perfect for a walk day or night.
Thanks to strategically placed lights added last year, the path is beautifully illuminated for evening visits.
Admission is free, and you can start your leisurely walk from one of three entrance points:
- Across from the “Stererfeldweg” bus stop, over the small wooden bridge near “Erdbau Winter” Across from the “Lindlinghof” bus stop, near the playground at “Sportzentrum Hinterglemm”
- Across from the “Lindlinghof” bus stop, right of the football pitch toward “Wieserauberg”
If you're driving from Hinterglemm, there’s free parking next to the sports centre. Alternatively, you can walk just under a kilometre from the Saalbach promenade towards the valley’s head.
As you wander through the forest, you’ll meet beautifully carved wooden figures and curious wooden gnomes next to water wheels turning in crystal-clear mountain streams.
The path features characters from famous fairytales, local folklore, and wildlife, with plenty of benches for resting and fun stations with games and challenges for kids.
Whether you're reliving childhood memories or creating new ones, the Fairytale Forest is a delightful adventure for all ages.
Pumptrack Reiterkogel: Ride and Improve Your Skills
At the top of the Reiterkogel lift, you'll find the Pumptrack Reiterkogel—a biker's playground with two pumptracks (Speedring and Worldcup) and a cool skill trail. Perfect for warming up or refining your skills, this area is designed to make you a better, safer rider.
The pumptracks help train your balance, strength, and endurance with waves, jumps, and banked turns. Beginners can safely get their first taste of mountain biking here. The added skill trail includes features like step-up waves, kickers, roots, and curves, offering practical experience for beginner-friendly routes like Blue-Line and Monti-Trail.
Whether you're a skateboarder, inline skates, scooter rider, or mountain biker, Pumptrack Reiterkogel is fun for all ages and skill levels.

Montelino's Water Playground
Montelino’s Water Playground on the Kleeblatt meadow on Kohlmais mountain is the perfect spot for some refreshing fun.
Kids can guide water to the water wheel and back into the stream using various water pumps, wooden gutters, buckets, and dams.
They'll also meet some farm animals along the way. Visit the busy chickens in the hen house and Regina the cow in the cowshed, where she's always ready to be milked.
The activity station is full of exciting things to do! There's a sand pit with a big cloverleaf and flower tables, perfect for imaginative play.
Located at the end of Montelino’s Adventure Path, next to Ederalm, Montelino’s Water Playground offers fun and relaxation for both the young and young at heart.
Golden Gate & Treetop Trail
Experience the highest tree-top trail in Europe at the end of the Saalbach-Hinterglemm valley. This unique adventure combines a scenic trail with the Alpine “Golden Gate” suspension bridge.
Starting at the valley’s end parking area, this 2 km circular tour takes you through meadows, mountain fields, and forests.
The 1 km tree-top trail begins at Lindlingalm and includes the stunning 200-meter-long “Alpine Golden Gate Bridge.”
In summer, you can take the small valley train to get there and back, while in winter, enjoy a magical walk through a winter wonderland or a beautiful horse-drawn sleigh ride.
The Golden Gate Bridge, part of the tree-top trail, rises up to 42 meters high and spans a valley where the Saalbach river begins.
From the bridge, you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of the mountains and the high-rope park below.
The tree-top trail itself, made of larch wood, extends 600 metres with steps, towers, platforms, and bridges, reaching up to 30 metres above the ground. The Glemmtaler tree-top trail is perfect for nature lovers and families.
Jump & Slide Park
Experience the world's first Jump and Slide Park, surrounded by stunning mountain views at the source of the Saalbach river. This exciting park features an eight-metre high jump tower, a trampoline area, and a freestyle ramp (kicker) for thrilling sessions in a relaxed atmosphere.
Archery Fun in Hinterglemm
Right next to the "Alpenoase Sonnhof" in Hinterglemm, you'll find an exciting 3D archery parcours. This archery course features a practice range and 28 stations set in the beautiful meadows and forests.
Make sure to wear sturdy footwear like hiking boots, as you'll need to be surefooted. Bows, arrows, and all the necessary equipment can be rented at the Sonnhof, and a short briefing will get you started. Don't forget to register in advance for this fun adventure.
Peak Playground at Schattberg
Located at the Schattberg X-press top station, the Peak Playground is packed with fun for all ages.

Europe's Largest High Rope Park
Welcome to Saalbach Hinterglemm High Rope Park, the largest high rope park in Europe. Spanning over 8 km, this park features 200 different stations and 30 rope slides, connecting multiple levels and platforms ranging from 3 to 40 meters high.
Whether you're an adventure enthusiast or a thrill-seeker, this park promises an unforgettable experience high above the ground.
Montelino’s Adventure Path
Join the fun story of clown Montelino who lost his smile. Montelino neglected his friends and toys, and one day, they all disappeared, leaving him sad. Now, he needs your help to find his friends and toys to bring back his smile.
Start your adventure by taking the lift up to the peak of Kohlmais Mountain. Equipped with a game pass received at the valley station, kids follow the wise owl to search for Montelino’s friends and toys.
The path from the mountain peak to the Kohlmais lift middle station winds through woods and meadows, featuring 15 exciting activity stations. From the spider net and target throwing to the giant snake “Paula” in the puppet show, there’s so much to explore.
Visit the funny squirrel with the golden nut and slide down to the circus arena. Complete the adventure by finding Montelino’s friends and toys to earn a small reward at the valley station and enter a competition with fantastic prizes.
Montelino’s Adventure Path is a fantastic family-friendly walk that takes about 90 minutes to complete, covering 3 kilometres.
Perfect for a half or full day of fun, the trail features huts with special offers for children, inviting you to relax and enjoy your time.
The path is pram-accessible and free to visit, with the adventure pass included in the lift ticket.
Go Kart Saalbach
Looking for an adrenaline rush? Head to Saalbach's Go Kart Track for some high-speed fun.
Perfect for both kids and adults, this track offers 370 meters of thrilling twists and turns.
With powerful 6.5 HP engines, you'll fly through the curves at speeds up to 55 km/h. It's an exciting way to spend time with family or friends, challenging each other for the fastest lap.

Head to Kodok's Play World at the beautiful Rosswald Reservoir for a day of family fun.

Mini Golf at Hinterglemm Family Park
Enjoy a fun game of mini golf right in the heart of Hinterglemm Family Park. Clubs are available up to one hour before closing, so grab yours and aim for that hole in one.
Käpt’n Hook Adventure Pool
Dive into fun at the Käpt’n Hook Adventure Pool in Saalbach. This outdoor pool spans 1000 metres and features a wild water channel, climbing net, whirlpool, and waterspout. Don’t miss the exciting tube slide.
Kids will love the on-site cinema, and everyone can enjoy a meal with a view at the panorama restaurant on the ship deck. It's the perfect spot for a splashing good time.
Wildlife Trail
