Start your multi-centre holiday off by staying in our most popular Italian mountain resort, Selva. The ideal base for getting into the Dolomites and spending your days, walking, biking and exploring. Stop off in a mountain hut and try some of the local delicacies, from Canederli dumplings to Spetzle pasta, and admire views of the jaw-dropping peaks surrounding you. With the free resort card, it's easy to hop on a bus to the nearby town of Ortisei, where you can admire the painted Austrian buildings and peruse the traditional food and drink markets which occasionally line its cobbled streets.

Merano is one of our favourite places to go for wine in Northern Italy. Just outside the Dolomites in the South Tyrol region its Austrian style and atmosphere make it one of the most peaceful Italian mountain towns, full of thermal spas to relax in and a programme of music concerts throughout the summer. We love sitting at the Roman Castel Rametz and enjoying a seven-course wine tasting, whilst admiring the vineyard! If botanical gardens and relaxed walks through orchards are also your style, Merano is the perfect choice for you.

The pretty town of Canazei in the Val di Fassa, is one of the most beautiful towns to base yourself in when heading into the mountains. Head up on the Belvedere gondola for incredible post-card views of the Dolomites or sign up to one of our Inghams guided walks, and discover the hidden gems of the area. Explore waterfalls and rivers, and see if you can spot any Marmots or Ibex along the way!
