Dotted around the pretty village of Ylläsrinne amongst the snowy trees, the charming Ylläsrinne Cabins are a wonderful way to experience Lapland. The remote village allows you to fully relax and unwind, where you'll have plenty of space to play in the snow and enjoy the natural beauty of the untouched landscape.

Fantastic for families, large or small

These Ylläsrinne cabins are the ideal base for an Inghams Santa Break. The smaller chocolate-box cabins are perfect for small families whilst the bigger detached cabins are well suited to larger groups - so there'll be lots of opportunities for quality time and fun together. And when you're not out searching for Santa or exploring Lapland on one of our exciting excursions, you can look forward to getting back to your cabin to cosy up by the fire or relaxing in a sauna.

Specially selected cabins

These cabins are full of charm and character,  each of the cabins are indiviually owned and furnished in a cosy Finnish style. The traditional Finnish cabins are dotted around the wintery woodland of Ylläsrinne. You'll get to experience the remote winter wonderland of Lapland first hand, whilst being within walking distance of the Ylläsrinne Hotel, the meeting point for your excursions and safaris.

Food and drink

During your stay, you'll have half-board meals at the nearby Ylläsrinne Hotel. Depending on your cabin's location, the walk to the hotel can take up to twenty minutes through the snowy wooded areas and along the lit paths. The food at the hotel is typically served buffet style, so you can enjoy a tasty breakfast with a range of sweet and savoury options before heading out on an arctic adventure. When you return for dinner you can enjoy a starter buffet with a range of salads and soup, a choice of main - usually one vegetarian option and one meat or fish option, and a choice of dessert. You can cosy up in the lounge with a game of cards, or head up to the aurora room with a drink - keep an eye out for the magical northern lights, they may make an appearance during your stay!

Reindeer café walk

Guests staying at the Ylläsrinne Cabins can enjoy a free Inghams guided walk through the enchanting snowy forests to a secret reindeer viewing spot. You have the opportunity to get up close and learn all about these amazing animals. There's a cosy café nearby where you can warm up with a hot drink and a freshly baked traditional munkki (a Finnish doughnut) in front of a roaring fire. If you're feeling adventurous, whizz down the specially built sledging hill or grill sausages in a traditional laavu (open fire).

All walks are subject to availability, weather conditions and maximum numbers. As most activities take place outdoors in Arctic conditions, they are not all suitable for babies and very young children. Exact details and timings will be provided locally.

Where to stay in Ylläs

Ylläs is centred around a large fell and we have accommodation situated on both sides. The main village is Äkäslompolo where you will find the majority of our accommodation including log cabins like the Villa Armas Cabins and Ylläs Log Cabins, as well as cosy apartments like our Akäs Apartments. Throughout Äkäslompolo there are also a handful of shops, colourful local bars, restaurants and an excellent, large supermarket.

If you'd prefer to head further into the remote Lappish wilderness, we'd recommend staying in one of our Ylläsrinne cabins which are located in the area of Ylläsrinne, on the other side of the fell to Äkäslompolo. These cabins are traditional Finnish log cabins and offer unspoiled natural scenery that'll allow you to really experience a winter wonderland like no other.
