Sauze d'Oulx is a vibrant resort with a lively après scene that has long appealed to British visitors. The resort offers plentiful tree-lined skiing and wide open, cruising that is ideal for intermediate skiers and improving beginners. The extensive lift system has made access to the 400km of the Milky Way ski area on-piste skiing simple and efficient.
Skiing and snowboarding in Sauze d'Oulx
The Sauze pistes are spread across a north and west facing, snow bowl which is great at preserving snow conditions, making the resort perfect for sampling powder skiing. A definite highlight is the 1300m descent from the top of Monte Fraiteve, skiing all the way to the valley floor at Jovenceaux.
Beyond Sauze, the Milky Way ski area extends all the way to the high altitude resort of Sestriere, past Cesana towards the charming village of Claviere and across the French border to the iconic resort of Montgenèvre. The full area pass covers you for all resorts in the area on the Italian side and two days on the French side. Your pass also covers one days skiing in Bardonnechia, located approximately 20km away form Sauze.
Where to stay in Sauze d'Oulx
Sauze d'Oulx has a wide range of accommodation on offer and we have some fantastic hotels to choose from. All offered on a half board basis, you'll have breakfast and dinner included with your stay. Chalet Faure is ideally located a couple of minutes from the ski lifts, and provides an authentic alpine atmosphere with it's use of natural wood and stone. Chaberton Lodge & Spa is a stylish hotel offering some fantastic views of the Susa Valley. It also has a free shuttle that takes you to and from the lifts. Park Hotel Gran Bosco is a family run, traditional hotel with cosy alpine rooms and a welcoming atmosphere.
Bars and restaurants in Sauze d'Oulx
As well as excellent skiing, the old centre of the mountain village, with its cobbled streets, offers an attractive escape from the mountain when the ski legs start to get sore. This bustling resort is home to a great variety of pubs, bars, and restaurants all of which contribute to the lively, welcoming atmosphere. Sauze’s reputation for offering reasonably priced food and drink is justified and has helped cement its reputation as a popular après destination. And the fabulous range of restaurants and pizzerias, both on and off the mountain, offer delicious Italian food that caters for all tastes.
