Hotel Aaritz has an unbeatable location right in the centre of Selva directly opposite the Ciampinoi gondola. We love the elegance of this hotel - a grand staircase leads down to the lounge with a log-burning fireplace and comfy sofas. The rooms are beautifully decorated and they all come with a balcony and views over the valley or the village.

Great location

You couldn't ask for a better location. Set on the main high street of Selva, the Ciamponoi gondola station is just opposite the hotel so you can easily get onto the fabulous Dolomiti Ski Area. If you are wanting to ski the clockwise circuit of the Sella Ronda, the Costabella chairlift is around a five minute walk which takes you to the Dantercepies run - from here you have access to the lovely red run heading back towards Selva or can drop down into Colfsco and Covara

Unwind and relax

After a strenuous day of skiing, make the most of the wellness area - have a dip in the pool, unwind in the steam bath or have a moment of peace in one of the saunas. For a local fee, book a massage or treatment to thoroughly revitalise. If you are wanting to stay active, even off the slopes, there is also a fitness room with a range of equipment.

Enjoy a drink or two in the lovely lounge area, with plenty of seating, and a generous fireplace, it is the perfect spot to catch up with friends and family.

The Chalet Soldanella offers an authentic chalet experience in a great location. The resort centre and slopes are just a short walk from the chalet, and you can enjoy six days of catering and tasty afternoon treats when you return from a day on the slopes.

Hotel Mignon is a lovely family run hotel on the edge of town, there's a free shuttle service which runs between the lifts, so getting onto the mountain couldn't be easier.

Bars and restaurants in Selva

There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in Selva serving tasty Tyrolean specialities, as well as classic Italian cuisine.  When you get onto the slopes, you can find a cosy mountain hut on almost every slope, many of them are also serving tasty Tyrolean dishes, but you can also find pizzas, pastas, fish specialities and grilled meats. Be sure to stop for a warming Bombardino or hot chocolate on your way back to resort - the Panorama Hut on the Dantercepies slope is a fantastic spot to watch the sun set over the Dolomiti peaks.

If you are looking for a spot for some après-ski, there are a few options to choose from. Luiskeller is one of the best known après-ski bars in the Val Gardena, and everyone who has visited Selva has probably partied in the basement bar at least once. Leave your skis at the nearby ski depot and dance the night away.  If you are looking for somewhere with a more relaxed vibe, La Stua has a fantastic location at the foot of the slopes. Many of the other bars in resort have a more relaxed vibe, where you can enjoy a beer or an Aperol Spritz with friends and family.
