Our Ylläs Log Cabins are the perfect choice for the classic winter wonderland holiday to Ylläs. They're idyllic, high-quality and always highly recommended. The log cabins are located within 500 to 950 metres of the Äkäs Hotel and the nearest ski bus stop for access to the downhill slopes, plus excellent cross-country skiing starts from the door. The large village supermarket is also up to 1km away (five to 30 minutes walk) from the cabins. There is also a choice of cafés, bars and restaurants in the village centre for those who prefer to eat out.

Cosy log cabins

Wake up to blankets of snow surrounding your very own log cabin. It's one of the most authentic ways to experience Finnish Lapland. Each cabin is unique, some are built from round pine logs, and others are more modern and are made using flat-planed logs. They all adjoin another cabin and can be terraced, end of terrace or semi-detached. All of the cabins are equipped with all the modern amenities you'd need for a comfortable stay. Up here in the Arctic Circle, they've mastered heating and insulating the cabins - plus each one has its own private sauna and fireplace, great for warming up after a day of exploring YlläsMany of the cabins also offer stunning views of the surrounding wilderness. Each cabin varies in location around the village of Äkäslompolo - some are close to the centre of resort, while others are set in the more remote areas of Ylläs.  They also vary in size and capacity, making them suitable for couples, families, and larger groups.

Eat in or dine out

Our cabins are available for self-catering or with an upgrade to half board. All of them are individually furnished with a kitchen and a dining table, making them ideal for families seeking self-catering accommodations. In addition to cafes, shops, and restaurants, there is a well-stocked supermarket in the village centre. You will also have the option to upgrade to half board, which includes buffet-style breakfasts and dinners served in the Akas Hotel's restaurant.

Arctic activities

Lapland is one of the best places in the world to witness the Northern Lights and staying in the Ylläs Log Cabins during the winter months provides an excellent chance to witness this natural phenomenon. The cabins are also a great base to enjoy our optional extra activities such as snowmobiling, reindeer and husky rides, snowshoeing or visiting Santa at the Elves Hideaway. Plus after a day of exploring, you can unwind in front of the fireplace or warm up in your private sauna.
