Surrounded by glorious mountain peaks and glaciers, Obergurgl nestles at the end of the Ötz Valley and is guaranteed good snow conditions from November to May. Well known for its top quality hotels and modern, queue-free lift system, it has always been one of Inghams’ most popular resorts.
Skiing and snowboarding in Obergurgl
If you’re looking for guaranteed snow, queue-free modern lifts and immaculate slope grooming then Obergurgl is the place for you. Known as the ‘diamond of the alps’, the majority of our hotels are 4 star and above. As a family resort, many of the hotels offer kids activities and are close to the ski school and lifts.
You’ll have quiet scenic pistes suited to all levels of skiing. There is a great ski school, learning area and child friendly snow park. At a height of 1,927 metres the views in Obergurgl are spectacular.
Your six day lift pass gives you access to skiing in Obergurgl, Hochgurgl, Untergurgl & Solden. This huge area offers over 250 kilometres of some of Austria's best pistes. Hopping on the bus down to Solden is simple and free with your lift pass, here you can ski up to 3,340 metres on the resort's two glaciers, Retttenbach and Tiefenbach.
Lift pass perks in Obergurgl
There's a world of other benefits included with your six day lift pass in Obergurgl. If you fancy getting out on the slopes on the day you arrive, there is a bonus early bird hour, included valid 3pm-4pm the day before your lift pass is due to start.
Night skiing is also included with your six day lift pass. Open every Monday until mid-March, the Rosskarbahn runs from 6:30pm to 10pm and the Feskogl umbrella bar stays open specially so you can grab a drink up the mountain.
In neighbouring Hochgurgl night skiing and night tobogganing is available every Thursday until April from 7pm to 10pm.
All six day passes include access to Solden's 007 elements museum, which takes you straight into the exciting world of James Bond, right in the middle of the Alps. This must be prebooked online using your lift pass number.

The best views of the resort can be enjoyed from the Top Mountain Star 360° bar or the Hohe Mut Alm – where you’ll find the spot known as Tirol’s most beautiful mountain ridge. We recommend a winter hike around the stone pine forest – which became a UNESCO natural treasure in 1963. There is a weekly ski-show, night skiing and tobogganing or why not holiday in style with a helicopter ride or champagne gondola lunch.
Bars and restaurants in Obergurgl
With a community of 400 locals working in the traditional pubs, parasol covered bars and rustic mountain huts –expect lederhosen’s, large beer steins and service with a smile. Obergurgl is a small resort meaning you’re never too far from friends or family on the slopes.
No trip to Obergurgl would be complete without a trip to the famous après Nederhütte, located half way up the mountain. Be sure to try the sticky ribs, they’re a specialty that shouldn’t be missed. Once you’ve had a bite to eat. It’s time to party – the house band and staff will be the first to demand you get up on the benches for a good old knees up.
